new topic-southern literature

Every English class has a specific theme that they are centered around. For Dr. Hoefer's class, it is Southern Literature. The goal of the class is to explore different readings to observe how they reflect on Southern culture. Why do you think that it is important to us as students of Georgia Tech to explore this topic? How do you think the theme of this class affects us? and finally, do you think that the readings that we have done in class have been successful in exposing us to Southern culture?

It is important that we understand why we are studying what we are studying. English is not the focus of many students at Georgia Tech, but perhaps the topic we are studying means more to us than we think. Reflect on this idea for the week. :)
